A legal entity name is the name of the entity as it appears in all official formation documents. It may or may not be different than the name used for its everyday business.

In most cases the differences in the names are minor but it is important we use the official legal entity name and not the name the company uses generally in communications with clients and employees.

For example, Disney is a business name but its official legal entity name is The Walt Disney Company.
